Back to the Plungar Arena for a 6th time! Like the host of a dinner party, Mervyn treats his audience as welcome guests. He chats a bit, tells a few jokes, makes some pithy observations, with lots of clever comedy songs on his guitar. He’s an accomplished singer and guitarist but what makes his performances so good is the intelligence and fun. His sometimes wicked but always affectionate sense of humour brings warmth and joy to an audience that is happy to laugh both at his life and their own.

‘For comedy straight from the heart, they don’t come much better than Mervyn’ - The Stage

The Amazing Busquitos – Sunday 4th February 2018 7.00 p.m.

After their fantastic performance in April 2016 we just had to have them back.

The Busquito’s are a Dutch four piece swinging, busking, band that will put a smile on everyone’s face. They play a large variety of music dating from the ‘roaring twenties’ to yesterday with tunes from the likes of Django Reinhart, Mills Brothers, Sonny Rollins, Irving Berlin and Europe, to name but a few. They have won many awards for their busking on the streets of Amsterdam and are now touring all over Europe. Don’t miss this unique act. - See www.busquitos.com for more.

James Stretton and Iain Jackson brought their ‘A Brassy Christmas’ show to Plungar in December 2012. They have now teamed up with the divine cabaret artiste Miss Katherine Woolridge to bring you an unforgettable evening of cabaret music.

The show will take audiences on a journey from the pre-war clubs of Berlin to the bright lights of Broadway, with songs that capture love and life, infatuation and betrayal, plus a fair helping of sex and death. In a nutshell – life!

Two skilled musical guys with one fabulous singer in a cracking evening of entertainment!

The Midnight Cabaret Band – From Berlin To Broadway - Saturday 10th March 2018 7.30p.m.

We have managed to put together another programme of top quality entertainment, even without the local government funding that we enjoyed for so many years.

This season sees the return of Mervyn Stutter for a sixth visit and old favourites The Opera Dudes will be bringing us their Christmas show.

New favourites from Holland, The Amazing Busquitos, have asked to come back and we will also be welcoming The Midnight Cabaret Band and Winter Wilson. A Wine Tasting evening, the Harvest Supper and the by now traditional Burns’ Night complete the line up. Despite having to pay considerably higher fees to performers, we are holding ticket prices down to £12 (£6 U16) for all events. Fantastic value entertainment on your doorstep – come along and enjoy.

PLEASE NOTE – We are happy to take advance reservations for any of the events but, to protect us from last minute cancellations, tickets must be paid for at least 21 days in advance.

TO RESERVE YOUR PLACE for any (or all) events please contact Nick Morrell (nickplungar@gmail.com, 01949 860257) or Teresa Yates (teresayates840@gmail.com, 01949 861684)

Kip Winter and Dave Wilson present a wide ranging mix of music spanning folk, blues and country. Most of the songs were written by Dave and many of them have been picked up and covered by other artists. They will be touring as Fairport Convention's special guests on their winter tour in early 2018 and then kicking off their own tour to promote their new album “Far Off On The Horizon”. See winterwilson.com for further information and links to videos of the act.
